She founded Compagnie MÂLE in 2019 after receiving the Sobanova Awards with See You Soon, followed by the trio 40 for 40 Dancers in 2023. This solo explores the indefinite through a body and language in tension and resonance, intertwining without settling. A manipulable LED screen (suspended, dragged, or raised) displays words drawn at random from shared experiences, open to drift, addition, and diversion, creating a direct dialogue with movement, rhythm, and gaze. The voluntary desynchronization, where the performer discovers the words at the same time as the audience, generates intuition and active reading. Through a process of deconstruction and reconstruction, the piece addresses personal metamorphosis and the return of a Black, Guyanese identity long erased in Île-de-France, gliding between worlds, lands, sounds, and words.
Between performance and social inquiry, the work questions our need to label others and celebrates the freedom of what resists fixed interpretation.
