Etson Caminha

A multidisciplinary artist from Timor-Leste, Etson Caminha works at the intersection of experimental music and visual arts. His practice, rooted in recycling and innovation, turns limitation into creative momentum.

Marked by a childhood shaped by scarcity, he transforms discarded materials into artistic language, crafting his own instruments from wood, metal, and reclaimed objects, affirming that anything can become a source of sound.

Founder of the Noise Timor project and a member of the group Galaxy, he blends improvisation, research into traditional Timorese rhythms, and contemporary visual arts such as video mapping. A leading figure in Dili’s artistic scene, he stands out as a tireless explorer who celebrates his country’s cultural heritage while projecting it into an experimental and international universe.
