Jahelle Bonee is an inspired vocalist, musician, and composer. She merges jazz, blues, soul, and hip hop with the traditional sounds of Côte d’Ivoire At eight years old, Jahelle joined her community choir, marking the first step in a career centered on voice and sharing.
At the same time, her mother gave her a “Ahoco”, a traditional Baoulé idiophone, a gift filled with ancestral resonance that sparked in her a deep love for the authentic music of her roots. Guided by her mother’s cassette collection, Jahelle learned to play the djembé by listening to the powerful rhythms of the artist Antoinette Konan, forging an intimate connection with the soul of Ivorian tradition.
Today, she boldly and poetically blends urban oral traditions, rich committed lyrics, and modern digital rhythms, creating a unique artistic universe where emotions mix with social reflections. On stage, her magnetic presence and deep, authentic voice captivate and transport the audience, carried by powerful and truthful lyrics.
Jahelle Bonee is also an actress and writer, demonstrating her wide-ranging talent and commitment to storytelling through various art forms. Her approach is that of an emotional storyteller, drawing from her roots and her era to awaken consciousness and move hearts.
