Noli Timere

Title of the show: Noli Timere

Noli Timere (“Fear Not”) is a monumental aerial work at the crossroads of avant-garde circus, contemporary dance, and engineering.

Featuring original music by Quebec composer Jorane, eight acrobats perform more than seven meters above the ground within vast sculptural nets designed by Janet Echelman. This interactive structure, where every individual movement affects the entire system, becomes a powerful metaphor for global interdependence and the instability of our times.

Driven by a strong commitment to inclusion, the project explores resilience and our capacity to adapt, transforming vulnerability into a profound reflection on human connection in an uncertain world.

The project also includes relaxed (sensory-friendly) performances, community workshops, and sculpture exhibitions.

“Fear Not” – A Spectacular Aerial Performance

Conceived by Guggenheim Fellow choreographer Rebecca Lazier and sculptor Janet Echelman, with original music by Quebec composer Jorane, the work brings together eight multidisciplinary performers who dance and soar across two monumental sculptural nets (12 × 9 meters, suspended 8 meters high).

Blending contemporary dance, avant-garde circus, large-scale installation art, and advanced engineering, this full-length indoor/outdoor production is the culmination of five years of collaboration. It portrays human interconnectedness through a butterfly-effect dynamic, where a single gesture sends ripples through the entire system, reflecting resilience, adaptability, and transformation in the face of global uncertainty.

The project also includes relaxed (sensory-friendly) performances, community workshops, and sculpture exhibitions.
